General Provisions
The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform users of the “myUNIQA Ukraine” mobile application (hereinafter referred to as the mobile application) about the conditions for processing and protecting personal data that may be requested or obtained when using this mobile application.
The processing of personal data of users of the mobile application is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Law of Ukraine “On Personal Data Protection.”
Before using the mobile application, please carefully read your rights regarding the processing of personal data as set out in Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine “On Personal Data Protection.”
Definitions
Personal data – information or a set of information about an individual who is identified or can be specifically identified.
Health data – information about a person’s state of health, medical history, the purpose of proposed examinations and treatments, and the forecast of possible disease progression, including any risks to life or health.
Cookies – files containing information in the form of text and/or digital data that are stored in the browser or on the equipment of the personal data subject and contain personal data.
Profiling – a form of automated processing of personal data that consists of processing personal data for the purpose of assessing certain individual characteristics, including analyzing and predicting patterns of behavior of the data subject (including in professional activity), health condition, personal preferences, interests, reliability, location, or movements.
Anonymization of personal data – the removal of information that makes it possible to directly or indirectly identify a person.
What are our legal grounds for processing personal data?
The grounds for processing personal data are defined in Article 11 of the Law of Ukraine “On Personal Data Protection.”
The processing of personal data of mobile application users is carried out on lawful grounds, namely:
- the consent of the personal data subject to the processing of their personal data;
- the conclusion and performance of a transaction to which the personal data subject is a party, or which is concluded in favor of the personal data subject, or for the implementation of actions preceding the conclusion of such a transaction at the request of the personal data subject.
What personal data do we collect from users who use the mobile application?
We collect personal data from you when you register in the mobile application or enter information into it.
The scope and type of processing of your personal data vary depending on which functionalities of the mobile application you intend to use.
Depending on the use of the application’s functionalities, the following data are processed:
for registration in the mobile application: date of birth, phone number;
for authorization in the mobile application, we process biometric data: fingerprints, face scan, or hand proportions (including facial heat signature);
for the fulfillment of the insurance contract: full name, date of birth, gender, age, postal address, phone number, email address, tax identification number, passport series and number, driver’s license, and other identification documents;
for submitting a request to schedule a doctor’s appointment / for confirming a self-booked appointment: health data, including information about medical conditions (diagnoses);
for creating and managing bonus programs in the mobile application, we process information about users’ personal interests (sports, food, shopping, finance, etc.);
To provide or offer services by UNIQA Insurance Company and UNIQA Life Insurance Company, the application processes users’ full transaction (order) history.
During further use of the mobile application, information about visits and usage is processed (IP address, device ID, server domain, type of device/operating system/browser used to access the service).
While using the mobile application, we process data about your location.
Based on the personal data provided, we perform profiling, meaning the automated evaluation of certain personal factors. We conduct profiling to better understand your interests and needs in relation to our services. Based on this profile, we send information tailored to your preferences, which allows us to improve our services.
For what purpose do we process your personal data?
We process personal data for the purpose of registering users of the mobile application, authorizing users, and enabling the use of other features of the mobile application (fulfillment of insurance contract terms, submitting a request for a doctor’s appointment, conducting an online consultation with a doctor, receiving a doctor’s conclusion following the consultation, creating and implementing bonus programs, and others).
Personal data are processed for the period necessary to achieve the purposes for which they were collected or subsequently processed. Further processing of personal data is possible only in cases explicitly provided for by law.
If you stop using the mobile application, you can delete your registration data by removing your account in the mobile application. The deletion of a user account that is party to or beneficiary of a contract with UNIQA Insurance Company or UNIQA Life Insurance Company is not grounds for deleting that user’s personal data from the databases of UNIQA Insurance Company, UNIQA Life Insurance Company, or other companies of the UNIQA Group.

How do we protect your personal data?
The mobile application is regularly checked for security vulnerabilities. We perform regular malware scans. Your personal data are accessible only to a limited number of persons who have special access rights and are required to keep such information confidential. We apply various security measures when a user enters, submits, or accesses their data to ensure the protection of your personal data.
We take all necessary organizational and technical measures to protect your personal data from loss, unauthorized access, or disclosure.
To ensure the security of personal data, the following technical protection measures have been implemented:
- the ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity, availability, and resilience of systems and services that process personal data;
- data encryption: the use of modern encryption methods to protect data during transmission and storage;
- data backup: regular creation of data backups to prevent data loss and ensure timely recovery of access in case of equipment failure;
- firewalls and antivirus software: use of firewalls and antivirus programs to protect against malware and cyberattacks;
- software updates: regular scanning and updating of all software to eliminate security vulnerabilities;
- regular testing, evaluation, and analysis of the effectiveness of technical measures for personal data protection during processing.
To ensure personal data security, the following organizational protection measures have been implemented:
- internal regulations: creation and adherence to internal policies that include strict confidentiality policies protecting users’ rights.
- staff training: conducting regular training sessions for employees on data security matters.
- access limitation: ensuring that only authorized personnel have access to personal data.
- audit and control: regular audits and reviews of security systems to ensure their effectiveness.
Do we use cookies?
We use cookies to ensure the functioning of the mobile application, to identify user preferences, collect information about application usage, and improve the quality of advertising based on your activity and interests. You can always change your settings or opt out of providing such information.
An informational banner appearing in the mobile application will request your consent to collect cookies. Below is a description of the categories of cookies collected in the application.
Necessary cookies allow you to use the mobile application and its core functions.
Functional cookies help us measure the effectiveness of the mobile application, improve your user experience, and remember any settings you may have chosen.
Analytical cookies allow us to store information about how you use the mobile application and how often you access it.

We use cookies provided by third parties. This mobile application uses Google Analytics, Meta, Microsoft (Bing), LinkedIn, Yahoo, Microsoft (CIAM), and YouTube.
Are your personal data shared with third parties?
Personal data obtained from registered users of the mobile application are not shared or disclosed to third parties.
Disclosure of personal data is possible in cases provided by the current legislation of Ukraine, as well as in cases of engaging third parties under a contract, provided that confidentiality of personal data is maintained.
To improve the process of selecting doctors for users, UNIQA Insurance Company cooperates with Limited Liability Company “Medical Solutions” under a contract, providing access to user data after anonymization. The medical diagnostic platform of “Medical Solutions” LLC (Mark), using data-processing algorithms based on user symptom information, provides recommendations that help determine the appropriate doctor for the user.
Under a contract, for the purpose of allowing users to receive online medical consultations, UNIQA Insurance Company transfers users’ personal data to the Medikit medical communication platform (an accredited medical information system in Ukraine’s eHealth public health system).
What rights do you have?
By registering in the mobile application, you, as a data subject, have the right to:
- receive information about the sources of collection and the place of storage of your personal data, as well as the purpose of their processing;
- receive information about the conditions of access to personal data, including information about third parties to whom your data are transferred;
- receive, no later than thirty calendar days from the date of receipt of your request (except in cases provided by the Law of Ukraine “On Personal Data Protection”), information on the processing and use of your personal data;
- submit a reasoned request to the data controller objecting to the processing of your personal data;
- file complaints about the processing of your personal data by the data controller or data processor to the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights or to a court;
- exercise legal remedies in case of violation of personal data protection legislation;
- withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data.
