Head of insurance policy testing and approval

UNIQA Insurance Company – a leader of the Ukrainian insurance market and part of the Austrian UNIQA Insurance Group, one of Europe’s largest insurance groups – invites a Underwriter to join its team Head of insurance policy testing and approval.

About the role

You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of insurance contracts with the company’s internal standards, while coordinating the work of the team within the function. This role combines underwriting expertise, risk analysis, and participation in system testing during the implementation of new insurance products. It is ideal for someone who enjoys diving into details, making well-considered decisions, and working at the intersection of methodology, product development, and IT.

Your key responsibilities:

• Review insurance contracts for compliance with internal policies and product guidelines
• Assess risks and perform underwriting for individual retail insurance solutions
• Coordinate and supervise the work of the function’s specialists
• Advise company employees on product features and underwriting requirements
• Assess risk classifications and maintain the vehicle reference database
• Test company systems during the implementation of new product-related system solutions

What is important for this role:

• Knowledge of current Ukrainian insurance legislation
• Advanced proficiency in Excel
• Experience with property insurance products is preferred
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to absorb and process large volumes of information
• Empathy and resilience under pressure
• Ability to take ownership and make informed decisions independently
