Data engineer

UNIQA Insurance Company – a leader of the Ukrainian insurance market and part of the Austrian UNIQA Insurance Group, one of Europe’s largest insurance groups – invites to join its team Data Engineer.

About the Role

This role focuses on developing the corporate Data Warehouse (DWH) and delivering analytical solutions to support business decision-making. You will work with large volumes of data, design and maintain data models, ensure data quality, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the DWH architecture.

Your key responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the Data Warehouse (DWH), including data processing and the creation and support of analytical data models using dbt and PostgreSQL
• Participate in designing and enhancing architectural solutions for the development and evolution of the DWH
• Document business logic, metric calculation rules, data processes, and maintain technical documentation within dbt
• Develop and maintain data quality tests to ensure the accuracy and reliability of reporting
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver analytical initiatives and projects

What is important for this role:

• Hands-on experience with SQL
• Experience working with PostgreSQL
• Understanding of Data Warehouse (DWH) concepts and architecture
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes
• Knowledge of data modeling and analytical reporting principles
• Ability to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into data solutions
• Experience preparing technical documentation or writing functional/technical specifications is an advantage
• Experience with dbt is an advantage
• Experience with Power BI or other BI tools is an advantage
• Strong analytical thinking, structured approach, and results-oriented mindset
