Application Security Engineer

UNIQA Insurance Company — the leader of the insurance market in Ukraine, which is part of the Austrian UNIQA Insurance Group, one of the largest insurance groups in Europe, invites an Application Security Engineer to join its team.

Responsibilities:

• Development and maintenance of procedures, policies, and other documentation related to software security.
• Implementation of software security controls and providing technical support to the security team.
• Analysis of existing infrastructure, networks, and software for vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities.
• Designing technical solutions to eliminate software security threats.
• Conducting security assessments, testing, and implementing secure development practices for new technical solutions.
• Analyzing and responding to security incidents, providing recommendations for software design.
• Collaborating with developers to integrate security into the software development lifecycle and with the UNIQA Group IT Security team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related disciplines.
• 3+ years of experience in information security or related fields.
• Experience with monitoring and security analysis systems such as ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) and Splunk.
• Practical experience in developing and implementing solutions to improve software security.
• English language proficiency at Intermediate level or higher.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic project environment.
• Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in the context of information system security.
